Guidant Global jumps 46 places in Sunday Times Best Companies list

On Thursday 21st February 2019, The Sunday Times held its annual Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For Awards at Battersea Evolution, London; celebrating great workplace engagement and bringing top organisations together to reveal where they’ve placed in their categories’ lists, and of course to raise a glass or two in their honour.

For Guidant Global, it was one huge night of celebration after being placed at number 51 in the Sunday Times Best 100 Best Companies to Work For – a jump of 46 places from last year!

Our CEO Simon Blockley says this achievement is:

“A testament to the fantastic culture we have all worked so hard to create. At Guidant Global we champion a better, more forward way of thinking and we have a core philosophy of shifting the focus to people.

In essence we wanted to create a global work culture where people feel valued and fulfilled – a people-first strategy that supports employee wellbeing while still driving business results.  We were obviously delighted to make the list last year but this year’s achievement is testimony to the fact that not only is our strategy working, but that we are continually improving.”

Of particular note within Best Companies accreditation, was the fact that 80% of working parents have an informal flexible working agreement, an arrangement which we believe is part of a supportive, yet ‘grown-up’ culture.

Some highlights from our Best Companies accreditation:

  • 90% of our staff agreed: “I feel that my manager talks openly and honestly with me”
  • 89% of staff agreed: “My team is fun to work with”
  • 93% of staff agreed: “I believe I can make a valuable contribution to the success of this organisation”

At Guidant Global, career breaks and working from home are available to all staff and there is a real sense that people are seen as individuals rather then part of a rigid work structure.

“The fact that 84% of our employees agree that work is an important part of their life and 93% feel that they can make a positive contribution to the organisation’s success makes me feel exceptionally proud”, adds Blockley. “However, we don’t want to rest on our laurels and I am hoping that next year we can be closer to that magic number 1 spot!”
