Our objective was to support LSM in overcoming workforce management challenges and enhancing their ability to attract and retain top technology talent.

The client needed governance, clarity and oversight of their contingent workforce, alongside specialist technology recruitment expertise.

They faced a large administrative burden, needed better tracking and reporting of recruitment activity, and were looking to increase diversity, with a specific desire to increase the number of female candidates in technology roles as technology skill demand expands.

A dedicated onsite team, supported by Lorien’s expertise and e-volution, Impellam’s proprietary vendor management system.

Guidant Global, through Lorien’s expertise, embedded a dedicated team and worked alongside the client’s internal team to integrate seamlessly with existing processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business as usual while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.

01 Dedicated onsite client service managers +

Guidant Global, through Lorien’s expertise, embedded a dedicated team of two onsite client service managers: one focused on contingent hiring and the other on permanent recruitment, both reporting to our Portfolio Client Services Director.

02 e-volution vendor management system +

We implemented e-volution, Impellam’s proprietary vendor management system, enabling comprehensive monitoring of recruitment activity and detailed reporting on key service level agreements such as spend, candidate flow, interviews and time to hire.

03 Focused interview day +

To respond to urgent hiring needs, we organised a focused candidate interview day for scrum master roles, streamlining the interview process and enabling immediate hiring decisions.

04 Seamless process integration +

We worked alongside the client’s internal team to integrate seamlessly with existing processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business as usual while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.

05 Continuous improvement and KPIs +

Collaborative sessions with client stakeholders took place on a quarterly and monthly basis, ensuring continual improvement and addressing emerging challenges. New and more efficient KPIs were implemented, including reducing time-to-fill and improving candidate quality ratios.

06 Diversity strategy +

We also began implementing strategies to increase the submission of female candidates for technology roles, with a view to further improving diversity within the organisation.

Results

The partnership delivered significant improvements in efficiency, recruitment quality, transparency and stakeholder management.

Time to hire was significantly decreased, candidate quality improved, and automation reduced the administrative burden, allowing the client to focus on core business activities. Improved efficiency and transparency in recruitment processes also led to a much clearer overview and better decision-making.

Time to hire significantly decreased

Permanent roles were filled in an average of 50 days and contract roles in 10 days, or 15 days for niche skillsets, surpassing previous targets.

Candidate quality improved

Candidate quality improved, with a 2:1 CV to interview ratio and a 2:1 interview to offer ratio, both exceeding the client’s original benchmarks.

Scrum master interview day

The scrum master interview day resulted in three successful placements out of eight vacancies.

Initial steps towards greater diversity

Female candidates were placed in eight of the 28 roles filled in Q2 of that year, with strategic plans in development to further this progress.

Administrative burden reduced

Automation use meant the administrative burden was significantly reduced, allowing the client to focus on core business activities.

Improved transparency and decision-making

Improved efficiency and transparency in recruitment processes led to a much clearer overview and better decision-making.

The partnership has been highly valued by the client, with substantial improvements in administration, communication, end-to-end timescales and stakeholder management, as recognised by key internal stakeholders.
