The Situation

A global technology company needed its workforce solutions partnership to evolve and grow with its changing needs.

Our customer is a global technology company that designs, develops and manufactures software and hardware solutions. Over the past two decades, our workforce solutions partnership has evolved and grown to meet their ever-changing needs and strategic objectives, delivering consistency, growth and strategic decision making on a global scale.

Guidant’s solution started with a single service line in the USA focused on contingent labor only, underpinned by SAP Fieldglass VMS to facilitate MSP and Payroll services, followed by the introduction of SOW and Services Procurement in North America in 2019.

Over the past five years, our partnership has expanded significantly in terms of geographic reach and service lines. Guidant has worked closely with the client over time to fully refine and optimize service delivery, global VMS configuration and HM/buyer utilization across multiple countries and regions.

Original programme scope
USA
The programme began with a single service line focused on contingent labor, supported by SAP Fieldglass VMS for MSP and Payroll services.
SOW and Services Procurement
2019
SOW and Services Procurement were introduced in North America before the programme continued to expand across additional countries and regions.
The Challenge

Expanding the MSP into key strategic geographies while maintaining control, compliance and adoption.

The primary aim of expanding the MSP was to translate the cost savings, programme governance and optimization of workforce procurement afforded by the North America solution into key strategic geographies, including the UK, Mexico, China, India, France, Germany, Ireland, Poland, Portugal and Sweden.

01
Global visibility and control

The customer needed complete visibility and control of their contingent workforce globally to drive stronger, strategic decision making at the highest level.

02
Compliance and adoption

Market maturity in some countries required strong guidance and care to optimize compliance and adoption, supported by targeted communications and training.

03
Complex technology deployment

The programme needed a single VMS across a global organisation with multiple instances in use, supported by a smooth technology deployment schedule.

The Solution

A systematic global rollout, supported by a global management model and evolving services procurement oversight.

Guidant mapped a systematic adoption plan that integrated additional countries into the MSP framework, while transforming the US-based Program Management Office into a global management model. The programme then evolved again to include SOW and Services Procurement oversight globally.

01 Global rollout +

Guidant delivered a phased implementation starting with Mexico and Germany, including the management of Temporary Staffing and IC Contracting, followed by expansions to France and Poland, the UK, Ireland and Sweden, then China and India with strategic partners.

02 SOW and Services Procurement +

The programme evolved to include SOW and Services Procurement oversight globally, enabling procurement teams to get work done in the most cost-effective and sustainable way, including offshoring and nearshoring where appropriate.

03 VMS configuration and approval hierarchies +

The VMS was configured to accommodate RFQs, supplier management, SOW functionality and complex approval hierarchies at business unit and MSP process levels.

04 Process optimisation +

Guidant supported several projects focused on legal compliance globally, including IR35 implementation in the UK and legislation updates in Germany and Sweden, alongside global restructuring, harmonization, automation and VMS integrations.

Results

A comprehensive, fully optimised global workforce solution.

The customer’s program has evolved from a single-country, single-service line initiative to a comprehensive, fully optimised global workforce solution. This evolution reflects the customer’s strategic focus on cost optimization, risk mitigation, and process harmonization, ensuring the program meets the company’s changing needs and market conditions.
