Artificial Intelligence has quickly moved from a futuristic concept to an essential part of the workplace. While it hasn’t become the dominant force some predicted, AI is already shaping our daily lives. Since AI’s major breakthrough in 2022, its rapid growth has changed work practices across industries, leading organisations to reassess operations and employee roles.
By the end of 2024, a remarkable 75% of workplaces had incorporated AI tools into their operations, with nearly half adopting these technologies within just six months. This indicates a significant shift in work processes, productivity, and business strategy.
Based on insights gathered from organisations already utilising the tech, AI’s integration is already delivering dramatic results and data collected by Microsoft and LinkedIn shows that three-quarters (75%) of all employees are using AI at work in some capacity.
Meanwhile, programmers adopting AI tools are managing to complete 126% more projects each week than their peers who are not using AI. This evidence highlights the capacity of artificial intelligence to enhance operational efficiency, optimise intricate workflows, and improve organisational performance.
Yet, these advancements are also raising new concerns. While high numbers of workers have employed AI tools such as ChatGPT on the job, more than a quarter (26%) of workers are worried that AI will lead to job losses.
This combination of increased capability and concern highlights the need for businesses to focus on transparency, support, and comprehensive training, so that teams are prepared to work effectively with AI technologies in the future.
In a recent study from Raconteur in partnership with Guidant Global, more than half of employers surveyed (54%) identified technical skills gaps as a major challenge, with AI being one of the most critical areas (53%) beaten only by cybersecurity (54%).
As organisations continue to adopt AI tools and integrate them into their daily operations, the demand for AI-literate professionals will inevitably accelerate. With technology evolving rapidly, companies across all sectors will require a workforce equipped with the knowledge and skills to harness the full potential of artificial intelligence.
AI apprenticeships provide structured pathways to hands-on experience with AI tech, whilst contributing to the businesses who provide such opportunities, they are catalysts for organisational and personal transformation.
By offering a structured framework for acquiring AI experience, Artificial Intelligence apprenticeships can:
Identify and nurture individuals looking to build on their basic knowledge of AI
Provide ongoing, relevant training that adapts as technology develops
Demonstrate hands-on, real-world applications of AI
Empower companies to foster in-house AI expertise while supporting employee growth
Investing in AI apprenticeships strengthens the pipeline of skilled professionals who are aligned with organisational vision and equipped to adapt as AI reshapes the business landscape.
To address the rising demand for AI skills, we have created a thorough AI apprenticeship programme using our Recruit, Train, Deploy model and our experience in talent development.
